Easton pics

I love this picture (minus me in the background). I love his eyes.

Easton fell asleep clutching this cup during the whole nap.
He loves to sleep on his tummy. Sometimes with his little tush in the air.
And a smile for you.

Cat vs Lion

For all you cat haters...this will give you something to laugh at.
Fanny's do is actually inspired by Sam but I think it looks pretty cool.

Munster sportin' his "do".

Copy cats

It's that time of year again

Every spring the ducks lay their eggs and shortly after we get to see the cute little ducklings around the lakes. It's really fun.
This nest is close to our house. We would check on it periodically and one day this little guy was standing around waiting for his little brothers and sisters to join him.
Then, right before our eyes, "Crack!," the egg opened and out came another duckling.
The little guy watched his brother or sister crack open their shell and then he walked around the nest to the other side to greet his new sibling. That was cool.
Aren't they cute. We saw a group of 10 ducklings yesterday.

Five Month Update

Easton is getting much better with his hands. He can reach for things with one hand and hold and maneuver his toys well.
A few days after Easton turned 5 months I thought we should practice sitting up since Easton was still not very good at it. Well, that day Easton sat up completely on his own for about 10 seconds the first time and about one minute when I showed Sam the second time. He's about 5 1/2 months now and sitting really well on his own. I love that I can put his toys in front of him and he can sit while I do things next to him.
Oppsy.
Easton is creeping a lot. (Army style crawling). He loves to be on his tummy so he can move, even if it is backwards or sideways at times. He has been getting on all fours with his butt in the air but he hasn't figured out how to move from there. He will not stay on his back long so he rolls over a lot to get to his tummy. Putting a diaper on this kid is like putting a diaper on a wild animal. He tries to roll over so I'm holding his feet and the upper half of his body is on his tummy. Putting a diaper on from the back is not easy. I have been putting him in bed with me in the mornings sometimes. It's the best sleeping with him in my arms or right next to him. He is so tired after he eats in the morning and he sleeps really well with me or with both of us. His thighs are ticklish and he laughs out loud when tickled. That is a sound that will never tire. He is saying oh and ah and da. He's a cute one.

Cravings anyone?

So-all you who lived in happy valley know about The Italian Place sandwiches and the joy they bring to the taste bud. Sam has been known to drive to Provo just for a taste of the delicacy when in Utah. So, for his birthday I thought I would make them for him. I had a better idea and thought we should do it together since he once worked at The Italian Place making the sandwiches and knew all the secrets.
Secret numero one....I'd have to kill you if I told you.
All you out there saying this looks totally gross trust me looks aren't everything. They were both very good and almost identical to the real deal.

My Birthday Gift

I think in passing I mentioned to Sam weeks ago that I need a jewelry box cause my makeshift drawn was a mess and not very functional. Sam did lot's of research and I love it! It holds things great and was made really well. So thoughtful of him.

FOOD!

On Easton's 5 month birthday we decided to give this rice cereal thing a try. This was only the beginning of the mess that started on his face and eventually was everywhere. It didn't help that Sam was "helping" and that he was letting Easton try to feed himself. I don't know how I'm not going to have to give him a bath after each of these feedings. I know-it's called a bib-but you'd be surprised where the stuff ends up.

Our rootin' tootin' cowboy

Sam saw this horsey at the store and we could not leave without it! We did put Easton in it and he was bouncing and seemed to enjoy it but definitely Sam loved it more. Thank goodness it was on sale :) It is actually really cute. It makes sounds of galloping, a cowboy saying "Yawhoo", and it plays cute cowboy songs. Easton bounces away and looks adorable in it. He's our little cowboy.
Ok....so he likes it most of the time. (P.s. His expression may have something to do with the fact that we were so excited after we put the thing together that we woke Easton up late at night. Not recommended for children under 6 months old.)

The Big 29!

My hubby's b-day was yesterday and I will be following him on the 14th. I am shocked that I will be 29. It hit me the other day that I'll be 29 shortly and it freaked me out. But I wanted to post a Happy Birthday to Sam and to let him know that I am really happy. I feel really lucky because I have very few complaints to speak of and many more things that I love about him and us. "I love us." Happy Birthday Babe.

Top Ten Best Moments

Sam and I love laying with Easton in our bed. He rolls around and cuddles as we lay comfortably on the bed together. The other day Easton literally rolled into this position and slept for about 30 minutes with me. It was priceless.

Kirst-Tell your mom these pictures are for her

Ok-so the hat doesn't even come close to fitting. The outfit says 3-6 months but I don't think this hat would have fit when Easton was born. We love the outfit though and Easton has definitely "Got Milk"

Easton was rolling around and the next thing you know, to our amusement, he about got his diaper off.

Jenny Jo came to see us!

It was so fun to have Jenny Jo with us this weekend. I spent the day after she left catching up on sleep from a long weekend of shopping, dinning, late night talks and massages and swimming. It was so much fun! Thank you Ho for helping me clean out my closet full of scary, long-over-due-for-a-cleanout clothes. That felt good. (Not to mention, it was also fun replacing some of those old clothes with new ones that fit). P.s. Ho-I will always have fond memories of our ____ money. That night, and what almost was, will never be forgotten.
