Sweet dreams little man

The other day I was out on a walk with Easton listening to my ipod when I heard the song Godspeed by Dixie Chicks, which is playing on my blog. I posted that song because ever since then I have been singing the song to Easton every night as part of our bedtime ritual. On my walk I began to cry just thinking of my little man.

Easton's first hike

Sam and I have really loved getting out to these Arizona hills. They are not mountains that is for sure but they are perfect for a good hike. It is the perfect time of year to hike and to get outside.

Easton likes the bjorn. He slept almost the whole hike, despite the boping up and down. He sported his sunglasses for the first time too.

What the???

When I grow up....

When Sam was little he used to say, "When I grow up all I want to do is have 12 kids and drive around in a bus all day." So when we saw this "bus" Sam was especially drawn to it. Can't you just picture Easton and his 11 siblings in this thing (ha!)

Such a good week!-Long overdue post

The next few posts are long overdue. Back when I was not as into the whole blogging thing and when I was still "recovering" from delivering Easton Sam and I had some great visitors that I failed to mention and would like to revisit.

Wow! Kirsten came to visit me-let me rephrase-Kirsten came to see Easton, and I was lucky enough to get to see her too since Easton and I share a residence. I had such a good time and did not want the week to end. Sam had returned to school by this time, and although I was not lonely yet or needing someone with me due to that fact, it was so great to have my good ol' friend to myself. No Tim (no offense Timmy), no job, no other friends or family to take her away from me :) I got to spend every waking minute with her. Kirsten 24/7. I'm already trying to get her to return. We spent our time relaxing, mostly in our beloved p.j.'s. Easton was only 3 weeks old so I really wasn't quite back to normal yet and relaxing was ideal. We did get our butts moving at times sweating to Power 90 and shopping. Shopping is the lazy mans exercise and since Christmas was around the corner we did some of that exercise too. My favorite part was just sittin around chatting or watching movies together. We were both crying throughout The Family Stone. I love that movie and Kirsten seemed "to get it". I tried watching it with Sam only a week later and he "did not get it". He did not get the sentimental inuendos and failed to enjoy the thing. I really missed Kirsten after that. Kirsten and I are on the same page. Anyway, we had fun playing games and she taught me a few recipes I was happily able to repeat after she left. And it was very fun to see her with Easton. She nicknamed him V-Rap for when he shreaks this little cry that truly sounds like a velosciraptor. He even does the little hand like movements. Needless to say, it was such a good week! Love ya Kirst

Grandma Warner and Aunt Sally-Long overdue

It was great to have Liz and Sally visit when Easton was only two weeks old. Sally and Liz were helpful helping with dishes and meals. Sam and I really enjoyed their company and want them to visit more often. I am so glad they were able to make it, especially Sally who visited for the first time. I love her! She's a great sister in law. Funny, down to earth and easy to get along with. Sally-you need to come visit with Bennett next time. We'll take the kiddos to the pool (and beach).

Mesmerized

Liz and Sam would spend much of their time staring. Who wouldn't want to stare at that face? :)

The dairy farm-Again, long overdue

My mother was a very helpful, excited grandmother. Lucky for us, Easton has been and was especially in those first weeks, a very good baby. My mother kept saying, "I have never seen a better baby in my life." With that said my mom was not needed in the way we thought she would be as far as caring for a newborn but she was sooo helpful in helping Sam and I adjust by keeping the house running. She helped with the meals, dishes, laundry, cleaning, organizing and whatever was needed. My mom has always been one to help no matter what. No matter if her hip or knee or other body part is clearly hurting her. She has always been there for me. Thank you mom! I am so grateful to you. You are a great mother and I am so excited for Easton to have you as his grandmother.

It was really fun to have Tiffani here who helped me with the whole breast-feeding thing and new baby do's and dont's. We spent our nights relaxing with our feet in the hot tub chatting and relating. Mostly the days were crazy. Easton was only a few days old when she arrived with Gracyn only 3 1/2 months. Two breast-feeding woman in one little apartment. Sam liked to call it The Dairy Farm. We didn't get much done other than feeding and changing the little ones but we still had a good time. I have never felt closer to my sister and I love her so much. I am so excited to share motherhood with her.

Tiffani Wiffani

Miss Tiffani, my favorite sister ever, turned 35 on the 16th this month. I wanted to holla out a Happy Birthday to her! I also wanted to take a few minutes to remember what I love about her. Tiffani has always been one to think of others. This is why she has put in countless hours to help the orphan children in Romania. She is one that has an idea and actually follows through with it. Tiff and I were pregnant together with our first child and delivered them only 3 1/2 months apart. This has been so great for me to have her for advice and someone to laugh with about the "joys" of pregnancy/breast feeding etc. She is a very patient mother and I think Gracyn would agree she is a fun loving mother as well. Tiffani is very strong and somehow has been able to really and truly keep a smile and positive attitude while going through some hard times. I really look up to her for this. Well, if we are to travel back in time a few decades I would remember a rebellious sister who had an unrelenting fascination with driving cars when she shouldn't have, aka, at 14-15 years old. Every time, without fail when my parents went out of town (and I wonder now why they ever did during her teenage years) she would steal the car and go for a joy ride....and she always got caught. That was another gaurantee. I also remember having many sleepovers with her and fending her off as she pinched and bit and scratched me. She thought it was so funny. I thought it was so annoying. But it got a laugh out of us anyway. For your sake Tiff I will not bring up the time you locked me in mom's room while you had a raging party downstairs. Hey, at least you brought me dinner and movies to keep me occupied. :) Love ya Wiffers!

Easton's First Christmas!

Huh, Easton didn't seem to mind Santa. (We'll see about next year)

Sam and I came back to Utah for Christmas to see family and to introduce Easton to family and friends. Santa made a visit just to meet him too.

So Jenny Jo and I are happily chattin' away when we looked over to see Tyson and Tessa laughing as they smothered each other over one stair. And once was not enough so they did it again. I love you Ty and Uniqua!

Easton is so glad to have you aunt Ho....(So am I)

Ahh Kirsten, you know I love you

Don't fret Kirsty, we'll be back soon :)

It was fun as always to see the Warner's. I have a great "second" family. I love spending time with them, even if the majority of our time together revolves around "that's what she said" jokes. Love you James, Rich, Sally, Eric, Liz and Diggy.

It was so great to see Nana at the Yeates Christmas party. One of Easton's great grandmothers. What a cutie. Thanks for all your support Nana!

This is my friend Radu from Romania, who is a part of Bridge of Love, the foundation my family is a part of. He was lucky enough to get a visiting visa and I was lucky enough to get to see him while he was here. It was so fun for him to be in America, a dream of his. Last time I visited Romania, the time I met Radu, I wanted nothing more than to get him to America. He has so much potential and not many avenues to pursue them in Romania. While visiting with him we took him to Cafe Rio as a treat but he was not impressed. He doesn't like the spices. I know, can you believe it. He was able to visit many places in Utah. Next time he comes Tiffani and I look forward to taking him ice skating. That should be fun.

While we were in Utah Easton really started to smile and coo a lot. So cute! He is getting a little personality. He has many facial expressions, all of which are adorable and say a lot already.
